My Milking Victory

Can you tell that this is a naughty goat? I think the one horn gives her away. This is Cammy. She is a very naughty goat. In the mornings when I take her to the milking stand, she fights me every step of the way. She kneels down on her knees so that I can't force her to go. But, I am still stronger than her and I do eventually get her to the stand. Then the real fun begins! She stomps, stamps and kicks while I try to milk her. She seems to aim for the milking pail and get it every time. I think she really enjoys this little playtime with me. I finally had to start getting pretty aggressive with her and laid across her back, hanging over her side with one hand ready to catch whichever leg kicked and the other to milk with. I did this for three days. I'm sure that was a funny sight. Cammy does not like that! But, I think I made my point.
This morning she walked to the stand with very little resistance, got up on the stand and only stomped twice. I got the most milk from her today than I have yet. She was rewarded with sunflower seeds. Maybe she will actually turn out to be a good milker, after all. Sweet Victory!

I am woman, hear me roar. ;-) I'm totally going to have to come see your goats. When I was in Earthfare tonight, I was given a sample of goad cheese (yum). It was quite yummy and made me think of you.

Hey, um, did you know you have a little white box right in the middle of your blog that says "This image or video has been moved or deleted"? I'm wondering if it might be some coding from your previous blog background.

I'm so glad you're blogging more again.
